Of which all the surrounding areas, participate in yard, garage, and personal sales during the time of this festival. To "catch the tourists" while they are in the area.
Me, I grew up, not far from this particular park. It has special memories for me! I rode my horse, thru the park, with friends, bike rode, swam in the creek, played, hiked, and picnicked with my family there. My dad, would pull the car right in to the creek to wash it, when I was just a little girl. We'd go there for a day's get a way and family picnic. Dad took advantage of the time, to get his car shiny! It was a park close to home, and offered a place to get away a little bit, with family. Every year, they hold the Covered Bridge festival here, which brings many tourists. They all enjoy the history of seeing the two bridges, this park has to offer!
I remember seeing all the white tailed deer, that the park back years ago, was so full of. My grandmother and grandfather every evening, during the weeks, would travel the park, just to enjoy the scenery and wildlife they'd get to enjoy!! Still today, I've picnicked with my children, at this same park. Walked our little Yorkie, and even barefooted in the creek! If you're ever in this area, Its a pretty place to visit, and hey, why not pack a lunch, and just enjoy the day of it! Don't miss those covered bridges, take the camera and enjoy one of Washington County Pa's lovely State Parks! Blessings, take time, to enjoy the scenery around!

I have gazed at pictures of Washington State for years and admired the rich greens and beautiful countryside. Thank you for sharing. Love ya.
Sorry. I might just do that especially if I have friends in the area. It is beautiful.
Looks beautiful, that bridge reminds me of the one in Beetle Juice.

It does! Is that big ol' house just over the hill? Day-O, Day-O Daylight come and I wan' go home. I sound just like Harry Belafonte right? you can hear it? like Harry right?
O! I absolutely love it here. It is amazing how cool, misty, and shady it is. It has an amazing atmosphere. I love the off leash dog area. Just beware...there is hunting in the area and you may want to wear bright clothing, your dog too! (bandana?)
Also, I forgot to mention. There are two incredible telescopes at the observatory. They hold Star parties and it is a great time.
I am biking trough the area and I was checking to see if there was any camping allowed in Mingo Creek Park. If anyone sees this by Sunday 6/19/11 please call me at 412-779-2442 Thanks
I have a family photo (not my family) taken in front of the bridge during the early 1900's. There are 22 individuals in the photo but only two names are mentioned, Harold and Jasper Parnell. If anyone knows decendents of these individuals please contact me so I can get the photo to them. jcren536@sbcglobal.net

I have seen this but have not went to it. This is very close to where I am now. I look forward to giving it a visit before I start my journey across the US for arthritis awarness. Ricky Racer. Your writing is simply beautiful. The way you describe places makes the reader feel as if they are there. I say again, you need to write a book. I will be standing in line waiting for it .
