A Day At Blackwater Falls State Park, WV

What a place of beauty is Blackwater Falls, located in Davis, West Virginia. These are said to be, the highest above ground falls in the State of WV. They drop off at 62 feet. It is called Blackwater, because of the Blackwater River. There are different overlooks and trails at this lovely State Park. There is horseback riding, a lodge, cabins, a swimming area, and campground areas. There is a lot for the family to do, at this State Park. I just find myself in awe, looking at the beauty of these falls. Our family, my husband’s side, has enjoyed many family picnics and gatherings at Blackwater Falls. Over the past years, we’ve all come together here quite often, and enjoyed the serenity of it. This past year, my husband’s father passed away, in February, and this 4^th, was the first year in many, that we’ve not come together here for a family picnic. We decided to go to the Falls ourselves anyway, and enjoy the day together there still. Though it was not with the whole of our family, just my husband and I, we still enjoyed the beauty of these awesome surroundings. I felt as though his daddy, was looking down on us, while we were again, at the Park, on the 4^th of July. The day was a lovely day, and yet, we were sad to not be sharing it again, as a family. I took a camera, and took pictures of the Falls, and we took in, all the scenery, and very much still enjoyed our time together! If you’d come to this area, I’d strongly suggest a visit to Davis, and to see these lovely Water Falls. You would surely not regret the trip! Tourists come from everywhere to behold the beauty of them! And even though I’m not a tourist, I enjoy our trips here, and it seems it’s a little bit different every time you view them! West Virginia holds so many great views of nature to behold, and this is most definitely one of the many here! Whether cooking out, or just enjoying the view, it’s a gorgeous part of our beautiful State. Come on and visit, but don’t forget the camera, you will surely want to remember your day, and your visit, to Blackwater Falls West Virginia! In fact, there aren’t too many places here, that you’d want to visit, without your camera, you’d be sorry you did!
